In 1996 Pamela Hayes, a sister of the Sacred Heart community and a great friend of Margaret's, rang her to ask if she could write some music as a preparation for prayer for an International Conference which was to be held that year.
Although Margaret before this had only ever written a couple of tiny pieces for her church choir, she reluctantly agreed. Six contemplative chant-like compositions were written which resulted in the publisher Kevin Mayhew, recording and publishing the first collection Fountain of Life in 1997. GIA subsequently sub-published the first two collections, 'Fountain of Life' and 'Fire of Love' in the USA. Up until 2007 Mayhew published six more collections and two Eucharistic settings, 'Bread of Life' and 'Broken for you'. " An amazing track, a hugely impressive album which helped me through a really difficult time in my life." |
